Industrial Visit to Electrical and Allied Engineering Co. ltd, Kerala

Industrial visits provide students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. FXEC the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an industrial visit to Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Co. Ltd, Kerala on 21.03.2023 to the final year EEE students. Keltron provides seismic qualified UPS Systems of up to 1000 KVA capacity based on state-of-the-art technology. In 1969, the distribution transformer division was established at Maamala. This unit was established with technical assistance from Bharat heavy electrical to manufacture distribution transformers. Now it is one of the mason players in the transformer industry and The Power Electronics Group (PEG) which is a pioneer in the field of UPS Systems in the country. The Chief Engineer explained about how the distribution transformers are manufactured. The students acquired knowledge on the manufacturing of UPS and Transformer for nuclear power plant applications. A total of 45 students and 3 faculty members visited the industry. The purpose of our industrial visit is to get a practical view about the manufacture of transformers and also the step down process in an electrical substation.
