Industrial Visit to Vikaram Sarabhai Space Centre

On 28-03-2023 the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an industrial visit to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram which is the lead Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under the Department of Space (DOS), Government of India. VSSC pioneers in rocket research and launch vehicle projects of ISRO. The Centre also pursues research and development activities in associated areas like propellants, solid propulsion technology, aerodynamics, aero structural and aero thermal fields, avionics, polymers and composites, guidance, control & simulation, computer and information, mechanical engineering, aerospace mechanisms etc. During the visit, the staff-in-charge of VSSC gave a brief introduction about the satellites and took the students from one section to the next and explained the process involved in the stage separation of the rockets. They filmed a movie regarding the origin of this centre. The visit came to an end by 12:00pm. It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit. A total of 106 students with 4 faculty members went to an industrial visit.
