Industrial Visit to Vikram Sarabai Space Center

Industrial visits provide the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an industrial visit to Vikram Sarabai Space Center - Kerala State, Trivandrum on 22.6.2023. The Visit was arranged for I year ECE students. A Total of 107 students and 4 faculty members visited VSSC. The aim of this visit is to give the students an exposure to current work practices as opposed to theoretical knowledge being taught at their college classrooms. Through this visit, Students gained knowledge about ISRO VSSC control room, their entire campus, and how Rocket launching process is carried out. Students got an opportunity to see ISRO VSSC museum where there were demo models & photographs of satellites & rockets which are launched by ISRO. The Rocket Garden at VSSC displays a collection of real and scale models of rockets used in India's space missions in which one can witness the evolution of launch vehicles and learn about their features and applications. Students were amazed at the speed at which the process occurred and how the automated systems could work according to the requirements. The industrial visit to VSSC was an enriching experience for students in getting live exposure of Space Technology which can help them in their internships and further career enhancements. The students gained knowledge through the visit and it was an eye-opening session.
