On 20.01.2025 a session on “Innovative Strategies for Building Competitive Advantage in Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. This session was handled by Mrs. M. Deepa, Assistant Professor, Department of CSBS, FXEC. Fifty five students from third year CSE B and 1 staff member participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Ms. M. Keerthana, Assistant Professor, Department of English, CSE from 9.30 AM – 12.30 PM.
The program started with the introduction of the guest speaker. The resource person began the session by defining the concept of competitive advantage and emphasizing its critical role in entrepreneurial success. Key focus areas included understanding competitive advantage, the importance of innovation in entrepreneurship, and strategies for gaining a competitive edge. The session explored examples of companies such as Apple, Tesla, and Airbnb, showcasing how these organizations leveraged innovation to dominate their industries. The role of technology, creativity, and design thinking was also highlighted as essential drivers of differentiation and value creation.
Participants learned about different ways to stand out in business, such as offering low-cost products, creating unique services, and focusing on specific customer groups. Real-life examples and lessons from past mistakes helped show how these ideas can work in practice. The session also included the group discussions to find market opportunities and brainstorming new product ideas together. Key takeaways from the seminar included the recognition of innovation as the cornerstone of sustainable entrepreneurship, the importance of understanding customer needs, and the value of collaboration and networking. Students were encouraged to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and to continuously adapt and improve their business strategies to remain competitive in the market. Through this program, participants showed keen interest in the concepts, methodologies and gave satisfactory feedback at the end of the session.
