Motivational session by Successful Entrepreneur

On 21.10.2022 a motivational session was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Civil Engineering on the topic “My story – Motivational session by successful entrepreneur”. The session was handled by Er. Senthil Ganesh, Alumni Entrepreneur, Executive Director, Eratos Geospatial Private Limited, Mysore from 10.00 - 11.00 a.m. The students from second year Civil and faculties of Civil department participated. The program was coordinated by Mrs. P.Raja Priya, EDC coordinator, Assistant Professor/ Civil, Francis Xavier Engineering College.

The speaker started the session with a question “why students should go for startup?. He started explaining the importance of entrepreneurship and startup to the students. The speaker differentiated entrepreneurship and startup and gave lot of examples from his own experience. Then he started to explaining about his own startup. He said that successful startup should be recognized based on team, market opportunity and product. He cited the example of META and encouraged the young engineering students to become an entrepreneur. Similarly, he explained the Instagram and the food delivering startups such as Swiggy and Zomato. He stressed the need for the social and economical impacts of startups. He insisted that students should think in a wider way to generate new ideas and should try to develop it into a marketable product. 45 students and 2 faculties attended the session.
