National Technology Day

On 11.05.2024 a Session on " National Technology Day " was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Dr. S. B. Jeshurun, Assistant Professor - Department of MBA, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 11.00 AM-12.30 PM. 51 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel AP/IT. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with the welcome address by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel AP/IT, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The Guest speaker said that this day marks not just a celebration of technological achievements across our nation but also serves as a reminder of the pivotal moments in our history where technology has elevated our economic and social structure. Then stated, “The origin of National Technology Day goes back to the achievements that showcased our country's technological prowess to the world”. This day, as many of you might know, commemorates a series of successful nuclear tests that highlighted our scientific community's capabilities. It is a testament to the spirit of our scientific community's dedication and perseverance. In an era where technology transcends traditional boundaries, our role as entrepreneurs and innovators becomes crucial. It involves not only understanding technology but also responsibly integrating it into viable business models that can address real-world problems. Whether it's through developing sustainable solutions for energy, creating more equitable healthcare systems through telemedicine, or enhancing education through e-learning platforms, technology remains as the core of these entrepreneurial solutions. He encouraged the students to think about how technology can be used for doing business activities. The session was an interactive one all the participants interacted with the guest speaker.
