On 15.12.2023 a Workshop on " Nurturing Future Entrepreneurs: Need of the Hour” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Ms. SS Dheepthi Assistant Professor -IT, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 1.30 PM-3.30 PM . 43 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Ms. R Shirly Myrtle AP/IT.
The program started with the welcome address by Ms. R. Shirly Myrtle AP/IT ,Francis Xavier Engineering College. The guest speaker started the speech by explaining the meaning of the term entrepreneur and entrepreneurship and heighted the need for promoting entrepreneurship. She gave lot of examples from the Indian entrepreneurs and explained their drive to succeed in their ventures. As the participants being the engineering students she highlighted the need and necessity for the engineering students to opt entrepreneurship as their career choice. She said that the entrepreneurial spirit needs to be infused in the mindset of the engineering students.
She also said that in today's dynamic and ever-changing business environment, entrepreneurship is not just a career choice; it is a mindset that propels innovation, resilience, and adaptability . Despite the acknowledgment of the importance of entrepreneurship, there remains a gap in integrating practical and experiential learning opportunities within traditional education systems. Additionally, there is a need for increased collaboration between educational institutions, businesses, and government bodies to create a comprehensive ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs. She concluded the session by emphasizing the steps to be taken to nurture the future entrepreneurs. The session was an interactive one the students interacted with the resource person and collected more information about entrepreneurship.
