Pitching an Innovative Idea

On 14.6.2023 a session on “Pitching an Innovative Idea” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of AI&DS. The session was handled by Dr.R.Prem Ananth IIC Convener, Xavier Engineering college. The students from first year AI&DS and faculties of AI&DS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs P.Sooriabrabha, Assistant professor, Department of AI&DS from 1.30PM – 4.30PM.

The program started with the introduction of guest speaker Dr.R.Prem Ananth II C Convener by Mrs. P. Sooriabrabha, Assistant professor, Department of AI&DS . The guest speaker started the session by explaining the meaning of the term Pitching and the importance of pitching while mobilising the necessary capital required by the business establishment. He said the idea pitch is when you present a business idea to others. A business pitch is a presentation of a business idea to a group of people who can help turn your idea into a reality. One can pitch to Investors who can help fund for the innovative idea. Pitching allows to clearly articulate ones ideas and vision for his business. It gives the opportunity to showcase the unique value of the business brings to the table and what sets it apart from competitors. He explained the different elements of pitching such as 1: Product name and category. 2: The problem you are attempting to solve. 3: Your proposed solution. 4: The key benefit of your solution

The speaker gave lot of examples for pitching and explained the importance of pitching. There are several benefits of pitching an idea, such as helps create improvements, pitch can be an idea to improve a product that's already existing. Delivering a good pitch can help you successfully attain that objective. The session was very much useful and the participants interacted with the resource person and gained lot of ideas from the resource person. Feedback was collected from the students.
