On 06.01.2025 to 08.07.2025 Three Days Value Added Training in Fashion Designing to Empower Entrepreneurs Tirunelveli District was organized by the EDII-TN and IIC in association with Entrepreneur development cell of FXEC. The training was handled by Mrs.E.Seetha Lakshmi, Trainer, Rural Self-Employment Training Institute, Tirunelveli. Hands on training was given for the stitching Jump Suit- Anarkali- Prince cut Blouse –Pattern Making and Stitching. 47 micro entrepreneurs and 10 students participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Mr.M.Siva Baarathi, District Program Manager EDII Tirunelveli and Dr R Prem Ananth, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College.

The 3-Day EDP - Value Added Training Programme to empower the women micro entrepreneurs through value added training on Fashion Technology. Mr. M. Siva Baarathi, District Program Manager, EDII-TN, Tirunelveli, explained the purpose of organizing the value added training progremme. He highlighted the objectives of the programme and the importance of entrepreneurship in the field of fashion technology. The official from Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission, Tirunelveli addressed the participants of the training programme. Mrs. Kavitha, District Resource Person, TNSRLM, Tirunelveli, addressed the gathering and provided valuable insights into the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (TNSRLM) schemes and activities. She emphasized how these schemes support rural entrepreneurship and self-reliance among women. Special address was delivered by Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, Director, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, on women empowerment through entrepreneurial activities in the Tirunelveli region. He encouraged participants to leverage local resources and market opportunities to establish successful ventures in fashion technology.

Mrs. E. Seetha Lakshmi, a professional trainer in fashion design, conducted a hands-on training session on Jump Suit – Pattern Making and Stitching. Participants were introduced to the basics of creating patterns and stitching techniques for jumpsuits. The second day of the programme focused on advanced design techniques. The trainer explained the Anarkali pattern making and Stitching. The session included detailed demonstrations and practical exercises, enabling participants to create elegant Anarkali outfits.

The final day of the programme showcased intricate design skills like Prince Cut Blouse Pattern Making and Stitching. Participants learned precise techniques for creating stylish and well-fitted prince cut blouses. Participants displayed their stitched dresses, showcasing their learning and creativity. Students were also participated in the value-added fashion training and gained hands on experience.

Mr. M. Siva Baarathi, District Program Manager, EDII-TN, Tirunelveli, delivered the vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the trainers, participants, and the Francis Xavier Engineering College for their support and cooperation in making the programme a success. The programme concluded with participants sharing positive feedback about their learning experience. They appreciated the practical and hands-on approach of the sessions, which enhanced their skills in pattern making and stitching. Many participants expressed their interest in starting their own ventures in fashion technology. The 3-Day EDP - Value Added Training Programme on Fashion Technology was a resounding success, fulfilling its objectives of empowering the participants with valuable skills and encouraging entrepreneurial pursuits in the field of fashion design.
