Seminar on Entrepreneurship and Innovation – A Career Opportunity

On 29.8.2022 a seminar was conducted by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution lnnovation Council in association with the Department of Computer Applications on the topic "Entrepreneurship and Innovation – A Career Opportunity”. Mrs.D.Annie Rose Nirmala, HoD, MBA, Francis Xavier Engineering College delivered the guest lecture from 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm. The seminar was organized for MCA students. The resource person explained the concept of entrepreneurship and discussed about the opportunities for the engineering students to involve in entrepreneurship. The speaker said that Entrepreneurship factors like creativity, tolerance for risk, responsiveness to opportunities, leadership and the ability, Experience, Leadership etc. can be developed and involve in entrepreneurship.

She also talked about the Innovation and stressed the students to involve in innovation which can be used for creating startup. Moreover, she explained the government support and assistance provided by the Indian and Tamil Nadu state government for the promotion and development of entrepreneurship. She gave details of the financial assistance provided through various government schemes. As the nature of the matter discussed was very much interesting and useful to the students, the participants raised few questions and clarified their doubts. 50 students and 2 staffs members actively participated in the session and benefitted out of the same. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivated. Feedback was obtained from the participants.
