On 30.8.2022 a seminar was conducted by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution lnnovation Council in association with the Department of Computer Applications on the topic "IPR-The Future Asset for Innovators”. Mr. M.Essaki Raj, Assistant Professor, MCA, delivered the guest lecture from 3.00 pm - 4.00 pm. The Seminar was organized for MCA students.
The speaker explained the concept of Intellectual Property Rights and the process involved in the filling of IPR and the importance of registering the patents. He discussed the product, process and services for which the IPR can be filled and the different types of IPR like patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. The speaker stressed the participants the need for registering the IPR to protect the property. The guest also gave explanation about the protection given to the IPR owner and how long it can be used. 50 students actively participated in the session. All the students were benefited by the guest lecture. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivated.
