On 23.07.2024 a session on "Angel Investment/VC Funding Opportunity for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of AI&DS. The session was handled by Mrs. Dr.V.M.Sangeetha AP/MBA, Francis Xavier Engineering College. Fifty six students from second year AI&DS and faculties of AI&DS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs.P.Sooriabrabha, Assistant Professor, Department of AI&DS from 1.30PM – 4.30PM.
The program started with the introduction of guest speaker Mrs. Dr.V.M.Sangeetha AP/MBA FXEC by Mrs.P.Sooriabrabha. The resource person discussed on the role of early-stage entrepreneurs seeking angel investment or venture capital funding face a landscape where preparation, presentation, and networking are crucial. Securing such funding typically involves crafting a compelling business plan that outlines market opportunity, competitive advantage, and growth potential. Entrepreneurs should focus on building a solid team, validating their product or service through initial traction or prototypes and establishing a clear path to profitability. Networking with potential investors through startup events, pitch competitions, and industry contacts can also prove invaluable in gaining visibility and trust. Overall, success often hinges on a combination of a strong business idea, thorough preparation, and the ability to articulate a compelling vision for the potential investors. Through this program, participants showed keen interest in the concepts, methodologies and gave satisfactory feedback at the end of the session.
