On 28th Sep. 2022 the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Business Administration organized a guest talk on “EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES IN SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP”. The Session was handled by Dr.U.Muthuraman, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 9.30 AM – 12.30 PM.
The speaker in his speech told that Social entrepreneurs are harnessing the power of business and the economy to create positive change for people and the planet, reshaping how the economy works and expanding the benefits to a broader group of stakeholders.
He stated that the face of entrepreneurship has changed over the years to accommodate non-traditional enterprises and tap markets that are not yet exhausted. As enterprises adapt themselves to newer products/services, the people involved also adapt and learn new skills. Furthermore, usage and adaptability of ever-changing technologies help improve the existing processes of enterprises, and build efficiency and the social well-being of people, thereby enhancing value for all.
He emphasized the importance of leadership in Social entrepreneurship and he suggested the participants to understand the importance of Social entrepreneurs. The session went informative and thought provoking and benefitted all the students and staff and the session ended with positive feedbacks from audience. 60 students and 2 staff members participated in the program.
