On 16.10.2024, a session on "The Innovation Process: Stages of Innovation from Idea Generation to Execution and Scaling" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Mr. Sethuram Kumar, II/Mech, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, from 11.00 AM to 12.30 PM. A total of 55 students and two faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel, AP/IT. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with a welcome note by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel. In the present high speed pioneering scene, the capacity to produce imaginative thoughts is fundamental for beating difficulties and immediately jumping all over chances. The guest speaker being the product developer and converting the ideas in to new products, he shared lot of information about the process of new product development. His bits of knowledge gave a pragmatic structure to business visionaries hoping to improve their critical thinking abilities.

He also focused on the significance of developing a creative and innovative mindset among the students. He highlighted the various stages in the product development starting from the idea generation to the product development. In addition to these valuable insights, he discussed the role of adaptability in the ideation process. He emphasized that innovation is an ongoing journey, requiring constant iteration and refinement. Product innovators must be willing to evolve their ideas in response to market demands, technological advancements, and emerging trends. This adaptability, combined with structured ideation techniques, can give entrepreneurs a competitive edge, allowing them to stay relevant and responsive in an ever-changing business landscape. By continuously refining ideas and strategies, businesses can drive sustainable innovation and long-term success. The guest speaker being the student innovator he inspired the students regarding the process of new product development and use of funding resources. The sharing evoked a good response among the students and the interaction helped the students to gather more information from the guest speaker.
