Session on Igniting the young minds for start-ups

On 27.08.2022 a session on “Igniting the Young Minds for Start-ups” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of CIVIL department and IIC through offline mode. The session was handled by Er.Antony Clinton, Proprietor of Anon Interiors, Tirunelveli from 11.00 - 12.15 am. The program starts with the introduction of chief guest Er Antony Clinton by the HOD of Civil Mr. J. Samuel Prabaharan. The program was coordinated by Mrs.P.Raja Priya, EDC Coordinator, Department of Civil Engineering.

The guest speaker runs an interior designing and constructing company in Tirunelveli in the name of Anon Interiors. He is also an alumnus of Civil Engineering department. The guest speaker being a young entrepreneur, he explained the difference between business man and entrepreneur to the students. He shared his personal experiences to the Civil Engineering students about his startup experience. He shared his experiences in respect of the loan received from banks, how to attract the clients and how to promote the business.

The speaker gave a detailed note on different start-up ideas for young engineering students with low investment. He requested the students to go through the government websites to gather the problems uploaded in their website and to address their problems for developing innovative products. He also explained to the students about the problems faced by the people in the society and to give a proper solution for the same. The session ended with the quote saying that “Think of your dream each and every day”, “Invest wisely”.

45 Civil Engineering students & 2 staff members from the department of civil engineering participated in the programme and benefitted a lot.
