On 26th August, 2022 a guest lecture on “Innovative Technologies for Industry 4.0” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 11:00 am to 12.00 pm. Dr.R.K.A.Bhalaji, Innovation Ambassador, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FXEC was the resource person. The program was held via offline mode. Dr.S.Balakrishnan, AP/Mech coordinated the session and gave welcome address.
The resource person shared lot of ideas about industrial revolutions from 1.0 to 4.0 and also what are the technologies developed in all the four phases. In this regard, he explained clearly about industry 4.0 and the purposes. Additionally, he told about todays and tomorrow’s industry need with suitable examples. The guest speaker told that Industry 4.0, which refers to the fourth industrial revolution, is the cyber-physical transformation of manufacturing. The name is inspired by Germany's Industrie 4.0, a government initiative to promote connected manufacturing and a digital convergence between industry, businesses and other processes. Generally, Industry 4.0 refers to the means of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies including Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things, big data and analytics, augmented reality, additive manufacturing, simulation, horizontal and vertical system integration, autonomous robots as well as cloud. The students attended the session interacted freely with the guest speaker and gathered lot of information. 30 students participated in the session and gained lot of information.
