On 23rd September, 2022 a session was organized on the topic “Transforming Ideas into Innovations” by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of FXEC, Tirunelveli and Institution’s Innovation Council in association with Civil Engineering Department from 2.00 p.m to 4.00 p.m. The speaker for the program was Mr. Sumil Kumaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Tirunelveli.
The speaker started the session with the sentence “Innovation and Entrepreneurship are in separable and which more inevitable for the country like India”. He stated that innovation is the key to any business establishment which should be given utmost priority to stay safe in the market and to scale new heights in the business. He said at present there are 75,000 startups in India which coincides with the 75th year of Independence. He explained the 10 step program for transforming ideas into innovations. In the first step a problem solving idea reflecting our strength should be chosen and it should be viewed in 360°. A feedback representing our ideas should be received from the people and an action plan must be done based on that to develop a prototype. The speaker insisted that after developing the prototype, adjustments should be made for further improvement and a past forward should be done to review our progress in the development of the product and finally the product must be moved to the market. The speaker ended the session by giving the difference between growth mindset and fixed mindset. 45 students and 2 faculties attended the program.
