From 11.08. 2022 to 17.08.22 Skill training on “Startup Skill- Face Recognition” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of ECE department and IIC for five days through offline mode. The Resource Person for this program was Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Department of ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The Skill training program was inspired by the speech of Shri Dipan Kumar Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, MOE Innovation Cell & AICTE New Delhi and from the track 1 speaker Dr.Deny John Samuvel, IIC President, Kalasalingam Academy of Research & Education, both the speaker insist the IIC regional meet participants to arrange skill training to develop a good product for startup. There are many startup opportunities through face recognition technology because that can be applied to payment and picture analysis, which could be used, for instance, on bank card verification and security systems. This training was presided by Mrs J Friska HOD/ECE and jointly coordinated by EDC director and IIC president Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen. ECE Students and ECE faculty participated in the event. The program was coordinated by Pradheep T Rajan B, Assistant Professor /ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
About 43 Students from III year ECE participated from 11.08.22 to 17.08.22 a 5 days training.
Day 1 session started with the discussions of basics of MATLAB command window, Editor window and simple projects. The basic level assessments to Perform Mathematical operation using MATLAB and Make a quick plot on Sine Wave, Cosine Wave and Triangular wave.
Day 2 session starts with for loop, treatment of array within a loop, double loop, use of loop and index, displaying images in MATLAB, adding salt and pepper noise to an image, removing salt and pepper noise from an image and removing noise from the image using median rank and Gaussian filter.
The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the students. Session end with the feedback of Students. The Skill training went well students are enriched with Startup skills and Face Recognition skills The Program was well organized by Pradheep T Rajan B, Assistant Professor / ECE, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
