On 29th March 2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution’s Innovation Council in association with Civil Engineering Department organized a "Session on Stages of Start-up Development". The resource person for the session was Mr.Manikandan, Proprietor, Yazhi Structural Consultant, Alangulam. 47 second and third year civil engineering students and 1 faculty member attended the session. The session was coordinated by Mrs. P. Raja Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, FXEC.
The resource person explained the importance of developing startups and the process of developing the startups. While explaining the importance he gave lot of examples for the Indian Startups such as Paytm, Meesho, OLA, Udaan etc, He also highlighted the importance of developing startups to improve the economic conditions of the state and central government. He also highlighted the steps taken by the government for developing startups such as Special Economic Zones. Government is extending all possible support for the development of startups.
The speaker described 5 stages of start-up development namely discovery, concept development, resourcing, actualization and harvesting. All the stages were explained in detail with the help of live examples. The speaker also described the procedures and requirements for starting a business such as developing a business plan, acquiring finance, meeting legal requirements and marketing strategies. The students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding start-ups.
