Startup Financing in India

On 13.03.2023 Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of CSBS organized an expert talk on “Startup Financing in India”. The session was handled by Ms. J. Monica Esther, A/P, Department of Information Technology, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 44 students from first year CSBS and 2 faculties of CSBS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. T. Manimozhi, EDC coordinator of CSBS, Professor/Mathematics, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 1.30P.M. - 3.30 PM.

The guest speaker explained the meaning and importance of Statup. She gave few examples while explaining the concept of startup. She asked the students participated in the session to name one Indian Startup. Then the speaker explained why startup needs to be promoted. She listed the schemes through which the government is promoting the startups such as Startup India Seed fund Schemes, Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission, Startup TN etc., The guest speaker also explained the procedures to be followed for the availing the financial assistance through the scheme.

In addition to this the speaker also highlighted the venture capital fund which can also be used for mobilizing the financial requirements. The government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu through SIPCOT and SIDCO also provides lot of support for the development of infrastructure facilities for the startups. The speaker also gave information about the forms of organization while developing the startups. The entire session went on well and all the participants benefitted a lot.
