Startup Tn Hackathon Winners

On 17th November, 2022, Startup TN Tirunelveli Regional Hub in association with Google Developer Group, Madurai organized a Hackathon and students from Francis Xavier Engineering College participated actively in it. Out of 600 idea submissions, 161 were shortlisted and formed as 28 teams. Out of the 28 teams participated in the hackathon, a team comprising of Ms.M.Dharshini (III-CSE), Ms.Abirammy (II-AI&DS), Mr.T.A.Gladston Akash Raja (II-AI&DS), Mr.MariSelvam (II-AI&DS), Mr.S.U.Vijay(II-AI&DS) won 1st prize for their Artificial Intelligence based product development and startup idea. They are rewarded with start-up seed grants of Rs.35000/- by Google developer Community and startupTN. Also, the team is shortlisted for Grand Finale to be held at Google corporate office, Bangalore. The project was mentored by Dr.A.Anitha, Professor & Head, Department of AI&DS. Mr.Gokul IAS, Assistant Collector, Tirunelveli district honored the winners and the team got an opportunity to interact with Mr.N.Rahul, Project Lead – Startup TN Tirunelveli Regional Hub. He motivated the startup aspirants about converting their business idea into a social welfare business model. The team has been brought to field visits to identify market potential, application and need of their idea for disabled community. During the discussion, scope of their idea was discussed with domain experts and government officials. Dr.Cletus Babu, The Chairman SCAD group of institution, Dr. K. Jeyakumar- General Manager Development, Mr.Krishnakumar - General Manager (Administration), Principal – Dr.Velmurugan appreciated the winners for their outstanding contribution to the society as an engineer.
