On 05.02.2025 a session on "Student Entrepreneurship: Business Opportunities As Career Option” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of AI&ML. This session was handled by Mrs.P.Sujitha, Assistant Professor of Maths (AIML), Francis Xavier Engineering College. Forty seven students from first year AI&ML and one faculty of AI&ML department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs.P.Sujitha, Assistant Professor, Department of AI&ML from 03.00 PM – 04.20 PM.

The session aimed to enlighten students about the vast entrepreneurial opportunities available beyond conventional jobs. The resource person emphasized the importance of innovation, problem-solving, and leadership in creating successful business ventures. With industries rapidly evolving due to technological advancements, engineering students possess the technical knowledge and analytical skills needed to establish startups or contribute to existing businesses through entrepreneurial thinking.

The session highlighted various business opportunities in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, software development, robotics, and e-commerce. The speaker provided real-life examples of engineers who transitioned into successful entrepreneurs, demonstrating how technical expertise can be transformed into profitable ventures. Key topics discussed included market research, funding options, risk assessment, and business planning. Students were encouraged to identify gaps in the market, develop innovative solutions, and leverage their engineering background to build sustainable businesses.

The session was interactive one where students asked questions about startup challenges, financial management, and scaling a business. The resource person provided valuable insights on networking, mentorship, and staying updated with industry trends. Overall, the seminar was highly informative and motivational, inspiring engineering students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option alongside traditional employment paths.
