Transforming the Innovative Ideas into Successful Ventures

On 24.08.2023 an expert talk on "Transforming the Innovative Ideas into Successful Ventures" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mrs. R. Aandal, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 01.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 72 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with the welcome address by Dr . A. Ravi, Head of the Department, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. He started his welcome address by explaining the motto of IIC and the theme of IIC.

The resource person Mrs. R. Aandal explained the role of innovation in the product development and described the process of product innovation. For this purpose, she gave few examples in support of converting the innovative ideas into innovative products. Moreover, she gave few examples of innovative products developed by the students in EEE department. She also requested the students to involve in the industrial applied labs functioning in the college for developing the innovative ideas into innovative products.

The guest speaker also explained the process of transforming the innovative products into ventures. For this purpose, she explained the role of entrepreneurship and how it can be adopted for transforming the innovative products to ventures. She also gave information about the funding support available for developing the startups. She encouraged the students to dedicate their time to convert innovative ideas to solve a customer’s problem. The participants expressed their happiness as the session gave lot of insights about transforming the innovative ideas into ventures.
