On the 20th of June 2023, an expert talk was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of IT on the topic "Empower Entrepreneurship: Unlocking your Business Potential ". The session was handled by Mrs.C Jean Celia Grace AP/IT, Francis Xavier Engineering college. 55 students from First year IT and 2 faculties of IT department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Ms. R.Shirly Myrtle, Assistant professor, Department of IT from 2pm-4pm
The resource person explained the concept of Entrepreneurship highlighting the significance of entrepreneurship in today's dynamic business landscape. She explained why entrepreneurship is essential for individuals and societies. She discussed the economic impact of entrepreneurship in terms of job creation and economic growth and also spoke on how entrepreneurship drives innovation and disruption, leading to the development of new products, services, and markets. Furthermore, she highlighted how entrepreneurship empowers individuals, allowing them to pursue their passions, achieve financial independence, and make a positive impact on their communities.
She also explained the common challenges encountered by entrepreneurs and the difficulties in accessing capital and financial resources, including traditional funding options and alternative financing avenues. She discussed the barriers to market entry and the competitive landscape that entrepreneurs often face. Additionally, it addresses the risks and uncertainties associated with starting and running a business, as well as the skills and knowledge gap that entrepreneurs may encounter.
The participants raised few questions to the resource person and gathered more information about entrepreneurship and the potentials for developing entrepreneurship.
