On 27.02.2025 a session on “Using Design Thinking to Fuel Innovation in Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. This session was handled by Ms. Padma Sundari, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, FXEC. Forty one students from first year CSE A and 1 faculty participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Ms. M. Keerthana, Assistant Professor, Department of English, CSE from 9.30AM to 12.30PM.

The program started with the introduction of the guest speaker. The session aimed to highlight the significance of entrepreneurship and how design thinking can be a powerful tool for innovation. The resource person explained how entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business but also about solving problems creatively and effectively. The discussion emphasized the importance of identifying customer needs, experimenting with new ideas, and continuously improving products and services.

To make the session more engaging, the speaker provided real-life examples of entrepreneurs who successfully implemented design thinking to create innovative solutions. The importance of empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing in business development was discussed in detail. The students were introduced to how design thinking encourages a user-centered approach, allowing entrepreneurs to develop products and services that genuinely meet market demands. Additionally, the role of iteration and learning from failure was highlighted as key aspects of the entrepreneurial journey.

The session inspired students to approach problem-solving with creativity and a structured methodology, helping them see entrepreneurship as a process of continuous innovation. Overall, the seminar provided a comprehensive understanding of how design thinking can drive entrepreneurial success and encouraged students to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges. Through this program, participants showed keen interest in applying design thinking as a key to develop innovative products which would pave the way for entrepreneurship and gave satisfactory feedback at the end of the session.
