Webinar on Implementation of Quality Control in Concrete

The webinar started with the welcome address by Dr. V. Kannan (HOD / Civil). The Chief guest was introduced by Mrs. P. Raja Priya (AP / Civil). The speaker started his speech with the importance of concrete in our day to day life and hence its quality control plays a vital role. In-situ concretes are more susceptible to quality control problem. The common defects in concrete includes segregation and bleeding, permeability and shrinkage, blow holes on exposed faces, plastic cracks, efflorescence, spalling. The causes for the defects and remedies for all the defects were also explained very clearly. He also made a note on various testing procedures and the acceptance criterias based on Indian Standards.
