Webinar on Smart Technologies In Concrete For Budding Entrepreneurs

The need for preserving the resources of nature is felt in almost all the sectors nowadays. Many organizations are strolling towards creating an eco-friendly environment not only in their organizations but also in their products. On 29th of August 2022 a webinar on “Smart Technologies in Concrete for budding Entrepreneurs” was conducted by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution’s Innovation Council in association with Civil Engineering Department. Dr.T.S.Lakshmi, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Saveetha School of Engineering, Chennai was the special invitee. She spoke on the need for inventing alternative eco-friendly materials that can be used in construction highlighting the example of the usage of coconut shell as an alternative for sand. Further, she shed light on light weight concretes and few other alternatives that can be used instead of cement. The session gave a wide input for the students to take up projects in the future. 32 Civil Engineering students & 2 staff members participated in the programme and were benefitted. The session was co-ordinated by Mrs.P.Raja Priya, EDC Coordinator, Department of Civil Engineering.
