Webinar on Smart Technologies in Concrete for Budding Entrepreneurs

On 29.08. 2022 a Webinar on “Smart Technologies in Concrete for Budding Entrepreneurs” was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Civil Engineering department and IIC through online mode. The session was handled by Dr.T.S.Lakshmi, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Saveetha School of Engineering, Chennai from 11.00 - 12.00 am.

The online session was presided by HOD/CIVIL and the program was coordinated by Mrs. P. Raja Priya, EDC Coordinator, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The guest speaker explained the importance of entrepreneurship and the steps to be taken to setup business venture. The resource person insisted that creative thinking and innovation will pave way to entrepreneurship. The speaker stressed the students to think creatively and to develop ask the students to create innovations in light weight concretes.

She also insisted students for the demand natural materials to create light weight concrete and she ask the students to gain much knowledge on the alternative eco-friendly materials. She explained in detail about the use of coconut shells in concrete as an alternative for sand. She also added few innovative materials which could be used as an alternative in concrete. The session was much useful for the students for taking up the innovative ideas for developing the innovative products. The online session created a curiosity among the participants to apply their creativity into innovative products. Participants interacted with the resource person and gained lot of insights about smart technologies in concrete for budding entrepreneurs. 42 participants and 2 staff members participated in the in the online meet.
