On 16.02.2024 a session on "Workshop on building a culture of innovation through design thinking" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Dr. T.C.Subbulakshmi, Professor - Department of Information Technology Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 2.00 PM-4.00 PM. 53 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel AP/IT.

The program started with the welcome address by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel AP/IT, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The Guest speaker gave an insightful session that combines academic rigor with practical application. Given her expertise, she approached the workshop with a structured yet flexible agenda that allows for immersive learning experiences. She delves into the intricacies of design thinking a human-centered approach to innovation that integrates the needs of people, the potential of technology, and the requirements for business success. She guided the participants through the five stages of design thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Her approach was not just about imparting knowledge; it's about instilling a mindset. The conversation then shifted towards the focus on how organizations can embed this approach into their culture, encouraging a shift towards a more empathetic, collaborative, and experimentative ethos. Her sessions were meticulously designed to ensure participants leave not just with a deep understanding of design thinking principles but with actionable strategies to implement these principles, fostering an innovative culture within their own organizations. Her talks were not just lectures but conversations that sparked ideas, ignited passions, and encouraged the next generation of entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams with conviction and courage.
