Workshop on Business Model Canvas for E-Commerce

A Workshop on the Business Model Canvas specifically tailored for e-commerce was held on April 26th and 27th, 2024. This event was organized collaboratively by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), in association with the Department of Information Technology. Day one session was taken by Mrs. S. Freeda Jebamalar, AP/CSBS and second day sessions was led by Dr. Jainul Fathima, Department of Information Technology. 56 students and 2 faculty members participated in the workshop on both the days. The coordination of the workshop was managed by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel, Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology.

The guest speaker said that business model canvas is a tool designers use to map out a business or product's key actors, activities and resources, the value proposition for target customers, customer relationships, channels involved and financial matters. Business models are important for both new and established businesses. They help new, developing companies attract investment, recruit talent, and motivate management and staff.
