Workshop on EDII TN Innovation Voucher Program

On 16th September, 2022 a one-day workshop was organized on “EDII TN Innovation Voucher Programme” from 9.00 a.m to 4.00 p.m by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of FXEC, EDII Hub, AURCT, Tirunelveli and Institution’s Innovation Council in association with Civil Engineering Department. The speakers for the program was Mr. Mohammed Nowsath Sherif J, Co-founder and CMO of Incrix Techlutions LLP, Kovilpatti and Mr.Siva Bharathi, field co-ordinator, EDII TN, AURCT region.

In the morning session Mr.Siva Bharathi, field co-ordinator, EDII TN, Tirunelveli region explained the process of innovation and the funding resources available for the development of Prototype. He insisted the students to involve in innovation and product development which will give exposure to the students to learn new things and experience the same. Through this the students can enrich their skills which may be used for further innovation in the specific field. He also highlighted the various funding sources like startup India, Startup TN etc. which can be used to explore the possibilities for developing startups.

The afternoon session was handled by Mr. Mohammed Nowsath Sherif J, Co-founder and CMO of Incrix Techlutions LLP, Kovilpatti. The resource person being the beneficiary of the IVP (Innovation Voucher Programme) grant by EDII TN, he shared his experiences in getting the grant and the purpose for which the amount was utilized. The resource person explained why the students must involve in product development and innovation. He also underlined the need to apply for the IVP and to use the grants for the development of a prototype and to create a startup. He then explained the documents to be uploaded for its application process. He also gave detailed explanation regarding benefits of availing the IVP grant. The speaker explained about two vouchers, voucher A (for entry into research) with a fund of 2 lakhs and voucher B (for entry into market) with a fund of 5 lakhs. The resource person gave a live demo for uploading the necessary documents. He added a point that UDYAM registration has to be done in the initial stage using Aadhaar and pan cards. After the verification process the selected applicants e to present the ideas to the screening committee either through online or offline mode. Upon approval by the screening committee the applicant will be eligible for the grant. The results will be intimated through the mail. The documents such as bank account information, project milestone and financial details of the project, consent letter and UDYAM registration certificates are needed for applying a tripartite agreement between the applicant &EDII cell, Chennai. The session ended with a valuable feedbacks from the participants. 100 students and 5 faculties attended the program.
