On 21st June, 2022 a “Workshop on “Innovation – The Need of the hour to develop start-ups” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at 02:00 pm to 03.00 pm. Mr.V.T.Vimalananth, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FXEC was the resource person. The program was held via offline mode. Dr.R.K.A.Bhalaji, AP/Mech coordinated the workshop and gave the welcome address.
The resource person explained the meaning of innovation and the need for promoting innovation in the higher educational institutions. He also said that the higher educational institutions must initiate activities in the campus so that the students can be engaged in the innovative activities. Special programmes may be organized to ignite the young minds to think creatively and act upon it to promote innovation. In addition to this he explained about the government initiatives to promote innovation among the students. In addition to this he spoke on the government financial support to develop startups. He listed few examples of funding support such as Startup TN, Startup India, TANSIM etc.
50 students and 1 staff member participated in the program. Students gained knowledge about innovation and why it needs to given priority to enhance the economic conditions of the country.
