Dr. K. Rosaiah has inaugurated the St. Xavier Metric Higher Secondary School's Silver Jubilee Celebrations and opened the FX Auditorium on 15th June 2013 at 11.30am in Francis Xavier Engineering College Campus, Vannarpettai, Tirunelveli. Rt. Rev. A. Jude Paulraj, Bishop of Palayamkottai Diocese blessed the Occasion. Dr. Cletus Babu, Chairman, Scad Group of Institutions welcome all.
The Governor said India, one of the fastest growing countries in the world, once had great universities like Takshila and Nalanda in ancient times, we have to excel in all spheres and become a superpower. Tamil Nadu is a front ranking State and is one of the most literate States in India. The associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) survey ranks Tamil Nadu top among Indian States with 100 percent Gross Enrolment Ratio in primary and upper primary education.
Education should bring about harmonious development of head, mind and heart. It should be life-building, character-building and man-making. The object of education should be developing the youth into men and women of moral, spiritual and ethical values.
The governor congratulated SCAD group of Institutions for working with deep social commitment to provide quality education and also appreciated the St. Xavier's School students for actively participating in social welfare activities such as tsunami relief work, road safety patrol and cleaning of the Tamirabarani river bed. Following this Our Honorable Tamil Nadu Governor released the Silver Jubilee 'Sonvenir' and Tirunelveli M.P. S.S. Ramasubu received the first copy.
Mr.S.S.Ramasubbu, Member of Parliament, Tirunelveli said education that was being imparted to the present generation should strengthen vulnerable sections of the society and teach the students to treat every member of the society. Mr.C. Samayamoorthy I.A.S., Collector, Tirunelveli District, Mrs.Vijila Sathyanath, Mayor and Dr. R. Perumal Samy, V.C., Noorul Islam University, Kanyakumari District are graced the celebrations. Following this, students gave cultural programmes. Most of the students came along with their parents.
