Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the most powerful tool in design and manufacturing industries with its reliability, flexibility, efficient and cost effectiveness. With the CAD one can easily visualize and see the final product at the design stage itself with the aid of computer. The special/Applied lab in Design and Analysis is set up by Mechanical Engineering department for enhancing the technical skills of students to design, visualize, and simulate their ideas before they are ever built or create using CAD tools. There is a strong realization that computer aided design and analysis is emerging field and most of the industries are going towards this field. The lab is equipped with the latest software, which is being currently used in industries in designing and analysis of products. The lab is focused on developing skills and concepts central to the successful use of the technology. Realizing that Computer aided Design and analysis is emerging field and most of the industries are going towards it, the department started the training program on design & analysis. The highlights of the training courses from this design and Analysis centre are as follows:
Become a centre of excellence in CAD through creative and innovative training practice that equip the engineering graduates to be computer aided design professionals to develop engineering products.
The mission of the Special lab of Design and Analysis (SDA) is to create and manage a collaborative mechanical CAD training with industries that Includes
The lab students are empowered in CAD modelling and Analyses tools and techniques through selective and focused training programs. The training will be by conducted in-house or external experts. Similarly, the training programs will be conducted in off-line or on-mode which is best suits for the situations. Mostly industrial experts training will be conducted through online.
There are few competitions are identified to support this lab students. The competition also acts as catalyst for work progress and achievements.
